Minutes from last meeting:

First, a reminder we will NOT be meeting Monday (3/5) because of Spring Break.  Enjoy your time off! Our next meeting will be on 3/12 @ 8:30 PM in BSC 211.
Here are some highlights from tonight's meeting:
  • "Green" Party:  Monday, March 12th.  Sign up on the Google Doc and bring some green food!  Don't forget to wear green! :)
  • Environment NJ: The environmental organization that Dan spoke about at our meeting last week will have a table at TCNJ 2/28, 2/29, and 3/1 (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday of this week!).  Visit their table for more information about internships.  They will also be in Science Complex 128 from 10 - 6 on 2/29 and 3/1.
  • Stream Monitoring:  We are still working on figuring out a definitive date.  We are aiming for mid-March.  Sign up on the Google Doc if interested.
  • Kids' Day Out:  Kids' Day Out is an event on TCNJ's campus for underprivileged children from Trenton area.  This year, it will be held Saturday March 24th.  Water Watch will be making a green craft.  We will most likely be working with the kids to decorate glass bottles with pictures from magazines and making tissue paper flowers on pipe cleaner stems.  Over Spring Break, if you remember, try to bring magazines or cut out pictures.  The more variety the better!
Thanks to Tina for our Green News Article on weird ways to go green!  Some of the more practical ways: unplug appliances when you aren't using them, make your own cleaning supplies, stop junk mail, and use CFL lightbulbs.
